Obsessed with touring exhibitions

With an ever increasing range of touring exhibitions from which to choose, our clients are reporting greater than ever visitor numbers, which is really cool, but their success, comes at a cost.

At times, I can tell you where every movie-used artefact resides in the world, its likely price and on a scale of one to ten, whether it’s likely to be added to our portfolio very soon or not.
Despite cautionary tales tabled from friends and family in the Museums industry, I have been described as a serial wheeler and dealer of movie props – the Gordan Gekko of screen wardrobe. It’s my obsession. Talking about it will help.

Some time ago, when the Rosemary Clooney Museum in Kentucky sought to extend their White Christmas collection. We showed them a dancer’s costume from the ‘Mandy’ number, the only one known in existence.
We offered to lend, they insisted they buy, what could I do?

Very soon, one of the UK’s most popular visitor attractions will begin a 3 year program to host our touring exhibition. That’s all the permission I need to get back on the acquisition trail. I’ve already added hero costumes and props from The Hunger Games, 47 Ronin, Hercules… I fear a warrior exhibition theme in the making, you’ll conclude, I need help. Our design studio has also been busy adding QR codes to our museum labels. A popular interactive feature that allows museum visitors to view movie clips of the exhibited items on their phones. Advances in technology merely fuels my preoccupation.

If you would like the benefit of increased visitor numbers and additional secondary sales generated from vibrant and up-to-date object based content – or you want to recapture the imagination of your visitors, or generate and sustain interest in your existing static collections – if achieving targets and funding criteria with a low-cost, self-perpetuating exhibition seems irresistible to you, please get in touch for a quick chat or drop me an email.
I’d feel a whole lot better if you did.
